Classical Piano Lessons for Homeschoolers

Michal Grace Harris is a young faculty member at the Ann Arbor School for the Performing Arts  and Expressions Music Academy in Novi, MI.  Michal has a Masters degree in Piano Performance from the University of Michigan and is a private piano teacher in the Ann Arbor and Novi areas.  Originally from midcoast Maine, Michal was homeschooled all the way through highschool, participated in a few homeschooling co-ops as a child, and also attended a Classical school part time through her highschool years.  She understand the principles and dynamics of the homeschooling community, especially their great interest in the arts.
Michal has been a private piano teacher for over ten years now, teaching all levels-young beginners to adults with advanced skills.  She places great emphasis on proper technique, theory, musicianship, music history- but even with young students she makes sure to select repertoire that will be enjoyable and engaging!
For her private students, she drives to their houses to teach lessons.  For homeschoolers in the greater Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti/Canton areas she has open time slots available Monday through Friday, 9 am to 2:30 pm. These are the rates:
  • $25 per half hour
  • $35 per 45 minutes
  • $45 per hour
Michal also charges a travel rate of $2 per lesson to drive to students in Ann Arbor, and $4 per lesson to students outside of Ann Arbor.  She waives this travel fee if she teaches at least three students at one location together (at least three students at one house/church/c0-op).  If your co-op is interested in grouping several students together to be taught in the same location this can certainly be worked out.
