Summit Soccer Club Boys’ Tryouts for Fall 2016
Tryouts will be held on Monday, July 25th and Tuesday, July 26th from 6:00-8:00 pm  at Orchards Community Church (74903 McKay Road, Bruce Twp, MI 48065). Please come at 5:30 to turn in paperwork and to warm up. All returning players, as well as new players seeking to join the team or who want to learn about their club, are invited.  Please bring with you to tryouts a completed copy of both the Tryout Registration Form and the Waiver FormThese are the first two (2) forms on the Forms PDF from the Summit website (summitsc.org).  These forms must be turned in order to participate!  Also please bring cleats, shin guards, a soccer ball, and plenty of water.
 
Conditioning days will be held on July 28-29 & August 1-2 from 9-11:00 am at Bloomer Park (345 John R Road, Rochester Hills, MI).  The players will meet across the street from Yates Cider Mill (1990 E Avon Rd  Rochester Hills, MI 48307) at the parking lot and picnic tables there. The boys will run into the park from this spot.  There will be a vehicle going into the park carrying players’ bags and equipment.  If parents would like to hang out at the park while the boys are conditioning, please note that there is a fee for a vehicle to enter the park.  The boys should wear a good pair of running shoes as they will be doing lots of running!   Be sure to also bring cleats, shin guards, a soccer ball, and plenty of water each day. On July 28th, the will be collecting paperwork and payments for the season.  The cost for the season is $535 per Varsity player and $435 per Junior Varsity player.  There is a $50 discount if a family has more than one player on a team.
 
All forms needed for the season are now available on the Summit website (http://www.summitsc.org/Forms.html).  For your convenience, all forms are in one PDF that can be downloaded. Please bring to try-outs the first two forms in the packet (Tryout Registration and Waiver).  Please review the other forms in the packet and be prepared to turn in these remaining forms when registration begins.  Please note that the Medical ID form requires a current photo to be attached and must be signed and embossed by a notary.  The Michigan High School Athletic Association physical form requires the signature of a physician so please get your physical examNote that a tentative game schedule is already posted on the Summit website (http://www.summitsc.org/Schedule.html)  Practice schedules will be added as soon as available.  Consult this often as you plan the rest of your summer and throughout the season.
Summit is an organization run totally by volunteers.  The club runs more smoothly when everyone helps share the work.  They are asking every family to volunteer for a job for the season.  Volunteer positions include: Referee coordinator, email coordinator, making mini roster sheets, collect and distribute spirit wear orders, coordinate referee payment for games, photographer, team picture coordinator, emergency contact coordinators, field maintenance, turf/goal maintenance, banquet, coaches gifts, state tournament coordinators, national tournament travel coordinator, organize team dinner at national tournament, collect and wash uniforms at end of season. This information is for all homeschooling families for boys ages 13-18 who might be interested in joining the soccer club.  If you have any questions, please contact Joan Rusch at joan@nullruschfamily.org or Carol Kauzlarich at cjkplus6@nullyahoo.com.

Lindsey Clair is a homeschooling mother of three daughters. She is married to her best friend Ron since 1999! Lindsey possesses a degree in Child Development and just completed her BS degree in business marketing with a social media concentration. She is currently a professional blogger and social media manager. Lindsey is also a trained musician in the areas of piano and vocals.
