Homeschool Hikers

Homeschool Hikers

A new, casual, group is forming in the Metro Detroit area, of homeschoolers looking to meet up with others for casual hiking trips.

This is a group for homeschool families in the southeast Michigan areas of Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw and Livingston counties, who are interested in meeting new people and exploring the great outdoors. In the spring and fall, we will hike the first and third Tuesdays of the month. In the winter we will hike on the first Tuesday of the month. Hikers will generally meet and depart at 10:00 and be done around noon. Whenever possible, feel free to pack a picnic and stay for a group lunch.

These will be low key, hike-at-your-own-pace adventures for the whole family. We will utilize the fantastic Huron-Clinton Metroparks (you may need to purchase an annual pass if you don’t have one already) and explore other opportunities for hiking in this area as well. This is strictly a “drop-in” group; check the calendar for upcoming hikes and come when you can! Invite your friends…the more the merrier.
