Complimentary Lecture & Civil War Exhibit Preview at The Henry Ford
The Henry Ford is offering a complimentary lecture and preview of its Civil War exhibit, exclusively to teachers and home edcuators.
This special teacher event is an opportunity to learn more about the Civil War and consider its relevance to our lives today. The morning will begin with a lecture from an award-winning educator & Civil War expert David Finney. He will share rich stories to illuminate why the Civil War still matters and how we can teach this to our young people.
Mr. Finney has traveled to historic sites throughout the United States, observed and even narrated battle reenactments and spent years in the classroom teaching about the Civil War. Plan to gain a deeper level of understanding, hear the stories behind the artifacts, and be one of the first to visit our NEW exhibit. Mr. Finney’s lecture will be followed by a brief question & answer session. Then, teachers & guests will head to the Museum to visit the Discovering the Civil War exhibit alongside Mr. Finney and The Henry Ford education staff.
The lecture and preview will take place on May 21st. Pre-registration is required. Please visit the Henry Ford website for more information and to register.
