Learning through Story Cubes

Learning through Story Cubes

Does your child love to read or even make up stories of their own?  If so, Rory’s Story Cubes is the perfect educational game for your child.  What is the concept of this particular learning toy?  It’s really quite simple though it stretches the imagination and lets it run wild so to speak.  Here is how the game works:

“Rory’s Story Cubes is a pocket-sized creative story generator, providing hours of imaginative play for all ages.  With Rory’s Story Cubes, anyone can become a great storyteller and there are no wrong answers.  Simply roll the cubes and let the images spark your imagination.” ~Gamewright Rory’s Story Cubes

Rory’s Story Cubes consist of:

  • 9 cubes
  • 54 images
  • 10,000,000+ combinations
  • Infinite Stories

*Rory’s Story Cubes were created for ages 8+.

How to play Rory’s Story Cubes

There are a variety of ways to play this learning game.  The #1 suggestion to unleash creativity is simply this:

“Roll all 9 cubes and look at the face up images.  Pick an image that will be the starting point of your story.  Beginning with “Once upon a time…..,” make up a story that somehow links together all 9 face up images.”

The other options include but are not limited to creating a story with the images through a theme or simply dividing the story cubes up between players adding on to a story.

” Rory’s Story Cubes is fantastic, I love it!” ~ Sweet Pea

Sweet Pea literally played with Rory’s Story Cubes for an hour the first day we received it.  She even brought on board her 5 year old sister who also seemed to enjoy the creativity through stories and imagination.  We took the learning game up north with us on our homeschooling learning adventures as well.  Imaginations definitely ran wild then with no TV, etc.

Rory’s Story Cubes is a “Dr. Toy Winner” of the 10 best games.  The cost of this game is a budget-friend $9.99 through the Marbles the  Brain Store.  Even better, you can save 10% on this and any other brain-building products (excluding gift certificates) by using the code MARBLES10 when you check out!

Pretty neat, yes?  Have you and your child ever played or even heard of this particular game?  Maybe something similar?  Please feel free to share.
