Christian Family Learning Co-Op

The Christian Family Learning Co-op (CFLC) – a small family-oriented co-op that started in September, 2007 — has openings for the Fall 2012 session.

CFLC meets in Northville on Thursdays from 2:45 – 7:45 pm (a portion of their classes are held in the evening to allow working parents to be included.) They also offer the opportunity for parents and children to form close friendships, share God’s gifts with each other, and enjoy each other’s company through various activities together. Fellowship opportunities are also planned through the summer.

The CFLC includes time for group devotion and prayer, 3 class hours, a workshop where all co-op students participate in a mix of learning, creativity and fellowship activities, and a dinner hour where all family members are invited to join and eat together.

A sampling of classes offered in the past include American Girl History, Geometry, Chemistry, Book Club, How Things Work, Wall-Building, Chess, Critical Thinking, Geography, Science Through Literature, Discovering Great Artists, Recorder, American Sign Language, Movie-Making, Money Management, German, Math Made Easy. Map-reading/Orienteering, Detective Science, Shakespeare, Christian Sports Heroes, Science through Sports, Beginning Cellular Biology, Weather, Explosive Chemistry, Starting and Running a Business, Debate, Head to Toe Science and Scrapbooking. We determine our class offerings each year through a participatory democratic process — asking the kids what classes they would like to learn and asking the parents what classes they would like to teach. We select and teach the classes that receive the most interest.

Please note that families that join now will be able to participate in the class-selection process for fall.

The deadline for fall registration is June 15, 2012. Please contact Cheri Pelic 248-349-5447 or for more information.
