Classical Conversations in Lapeer
Are you a homeschooling parent who is attracted to the idea of classically educating your child or children, but is unsure how to carry it out? The Classical Conversations® curriculum exists to meet this need. It’s exciting to announce the opening of a campus in Lapeer for the 2013/2014 school year! Providing guidance, accountability, and support for parents and an outstanding education for students, CC classes meet once each week (mornings only for pre-K through 3rd grade) for 24 or 30 weeks, depending on grade level. Parents stay in the classroom with their child, observing and learning from the trained tutors, who model each weeks new material to the students and lead art, science, and oral presentation times.
Each year, from pre-K through 6th grade, students build a solid educational foundation as they rotate through three cycles and memorize (in creative ways!):
-161 events and people in a chronological timeline
-44 U.S. presidents
-24 history sentences to add depth to the timeline
-100+ to 120 geographic locations or features, depending on
-24 science facts
-Latin noun endings, declensions, verb endings, rules and
vocabulary, depending on cycle
-English grammar facts
-Mathematical facts including skip counting through 15×15,
squares and cubes, unit conversions and basic geometry formulas
Classical Conversations® provides equally valuable classes, lessons, and curriculum to carry your child from 7th grade through high school graduation via the Challenge programs. Further information is available through
the CC website.
