Saving with the Grocery Game

Saving with the Grocery Game

As part of your homeschooling adventures, are you teaching your child the value of a dollar and the importance of budgeting?

As part of an upcoming homeschool series with my girls, I am going to tag on grocery shopping with coupons, etc.  I am still in the planning phase of exactly how I am going to approach this so I am open to any ideas.

I was recently introduced to an awesome site called The Grocery Game.  It is known as the “Ultimate Grocery Savings Website.”  The founder of The Grocery Game’s goal is to help us “slash our grocery bills.”  Who is on board?

How exactly does The Grocery Game Work?

It’s very simple:

  1. Add your zip code and get a no obligation 4 week trial!
  2. Play the deals.  Sort and search deals all in one store or even all stores together.
  3. Gather coupons with fastest coupon round up.
  4. Shop and win!

What does it cost after the free trial?  Since I only selected 2 stores in my area, it is going to cost me $15 every 8 weeks after trial.  Doesn’t sound too bad does it?  They currently have a limited time promotion where you can get 16-week access to all stores lists in your area for the price of just one list ($10/8 weeks) and save approximately 75% on membership.

Sounds like worth a shot when it comes to grocery savings in the home.  Not only will this benefit me, it will also benefit my girls as they learn how to sort out coupon deals and prices.

Would you try something like The Grocery Game with your homeschoolers?  I definitely would like to give it a shot for a while to see how it goes.  When you sign up for the free trial, you have to provide your billing info, but you are able to cancel before your trial is up if you decide The Grocery Game is not for you.
