An Evening With Sandhill Cranes

An Evening With Sandhill Cranes

Field trips are for adults too! Meet at Leslie Science and Nature Center (LSNC), then travel to Haehnle Memorial Sanctuary where last year over 8,000 Sandhill Cranes were counted coming in to roost for the night. You will enjoy the evening as this large bird buzzes the tree tops surrounding their evening marsh roost; their reverberating primitive call will make a wonderful back drop as you use binoculars and spotting scopes – both provided to participants – to get a birds’ eye view of their evening home and that of the many other birds that take advantage of this sanctuary.
