Maize and Blue Math Circle is a weekly activity for motivated high school students to learn and practice more mathematics with their peers and professors from UM-D.

The circle is sponsored by the Mathematics and Statistics Department and there is no fee for attendance. Students are expected to register at the website before the first meeting. Teachers and parents are welcome to attend too.

More information about math circles can be found here.

There are many benefits of being part of a math circle. Students will have direct interaction with professional mathematicians and get a hands on experience of how mathematics is done and used in real life. Students will participate in specifically designed activities to sharpen their critical thinking and problem solving skills. Students will be informed and trained for regional and national mathematics exams, including prestigious mathematical olympiads. Students will find a friendly place to nurture mathematical talent. The circle is not a standard extracurricular activity or a tutoring session. It is geared toward students who are interested in mathematics and ready to take their training to the next level.
