Student Patch Program:
In order to participate in the student program you must purchase a student ski/board membership ID card. This membership card also allows students to ski/board at reduced rates besides Thursday club day, Monday-Friday from 3pm – close (non-holiday/non weekend) by showing the club card at the PK ticket window. They will stamp the date on the back.
The clubs program is a progressive patch system. Color coded patches are purchased for each level passed. Lessons are 50 minutes and start usually between 11:30-12:30. Students are required to wear their patches displayed for the lift operators, most just safety pin them on. Each lift has a certain colored patch requirement for your safety and you will not be allowed on the lift if you don’t have the matching patch requirement. The club discount lift tickets that are worn are different than the regular lift tickets sold at the PK window so the lift operators will be checking for the students earned patch displayed. This will determine whether you will be allowed on that chair lift or not. Each student membership card purchased comes with 2 lessons for ski and 1 for boarding to earn a patch so make sure you sign up, as the Thursday weeks go by, the sign uppers become scarcer as they have already redeemed their 2 free lessons and earned their patches. Pine Knob Ski School will not allow a lesson to take place without 4 students in same or close to the same category signed up. Additional lesson tickets if needed may be purchased at the ski school desk. For patch requirements, color codes and skills learned or need to be learned go to www.skipineknob.com click on ski school then ski club then ski or board patch program.
Adult Club Membership Guidelines:
The Adult Discount Program provides the opportunity for parents to participate in a healthy & energizing sport with their kids. The card makes it more affordable for parents to get involved with their children, creating a family of lifelong skiers on their club day. Adults must purchase an adult membership card and then can purchase an all area lift ticket for Thursday day only from 10-1:00 for $20. (This $20 lift ticket is NEVER available at the PK ticket window.) On non club days the adult cards can be shown ANYTIME or DAY for 10/$5.00-off punches on a full priced lift ticket purchased at the PK window. One punch per visit.
Pine Knob graciously allows the group to bring in their own food and beverages that is kept in coolers etc. in the meeting area the Pinery Cafe ONLY. They DO NOT allow commercial foods like McDonalds or drinks from places for example like 7 eleven etc. and NO crock pots. If you choose to set up camp on the other side of the building on their cafeteria side you must leave all your food and drink items on the Pinery Cafe side and consume them there also. Pine Knob allows the group this convenience only of bringing in you own food from home so please be considerate and put all coolers and food brought in back in your cars by 2:00 since the PM clubs start arriving and are not afforded this same convenience. Please note that Pine Knob also has a cafeteria with a full menu.
Remember Mother Nature does not always cooperate on Thursday club day so if in doubt please call the Pine Knob hot line 248-625-0800 or go to their website skipineknob.com. On the front page will be all the closings and opening times. Please check this before you assume and head out.
