Charles H. Wright Museum of African History KWANZAA-Dec. 26-29, 3-6 p.m. Dec. 30-Jan. 1-Detroit

In celebration of KWANZAA, the Charles H. Wright Museum of Detroit, has a week of activities planned in observance which began in the 1960s. KWANZAA mean “Helping African Americans reconnect with the African cultural heritage.”  Each seven days “focuses on faith, purpose, self-determination, and collective work and responsibility” (Charles H. Wright Museum, 2018).

There will be drums, colorful attire, African dances, and more through New Year’s Day!

This event is free of the museum’s usual admission fee.

When: December 26-29, December 30-Jan 1!
