National Engineers Week For Teens February 16-23 @ Henry Ford Museum

“Engineers transform big dreams into remarkable realities. Salute the dreamers and doers who solve problems and make our lives better at The Henry Ford as we join the national celebration of Engineers Week” (The Henry Ford, 2019).

Activities:

  • Experiment with History — Coding: Coverlets to Computers, 12:00 – 1:30 p.m., Near Made in America Manufacturing
  • Corliss Steam Engine Demo
  • Discover inspiring historic engineer and prolific inventor Elijah McCoy.
  • Join engineers from MDOT to learn about, and try bridge building. MDOT will also take us via social media to visit two of its engineers on the job.
  • Join student engineers from the Society of Women Engineers at University of Michigan Dearborn to discover the properties of nanomaterials through a super shrinker activity.
  • Play and learn in Kettering University’s robot arena.
  • Join engineers from MDOT to try bridge building. MDOT will also take us via social media to visit two of its engineers on the job.
