Winter Exploration at Leslie Science & Nature Center January 13 & 15, 2021-Ann Arbor

Visit Leslie Science & Nature Center on select days, and rent a kit for exploring ($3/suggested donation), even earning a prize for completing three activities in your booklet. If you love the kit or want to do these activities again at home or at other natural spaces, you can also purchase it on-site for $40!

Activities included in the rental kit include:

  • How to record temperature of air and soil/snow
  • Use binoculars to find squirrel dreys
  • Estimate age of tree using ruler and calculator
  • Use magnifying glass to look at fallen leaf or log up close
  • Observe Birds of Prey using binoculars. Draw or write what you see using colored pencils
  • Use compass to find cardinal directions. Figure out which direction the parking lot is!

Kits and prizes upon completion can be collected from the Science center on select days and times.

When: January 13th and 15th

Times: Jan. 13, 12:00 pm -4:00 pm and Jan. 15th, 10:00 am- 4:00 pm
